Esther Catherine Mootz was born August 15, 1935 in near Springbrook,
Iowa, daughter of Frank and Ludvina (Weis) Mootz.
She lived on the family farm until her parents moved to Preston.
She later lived near Andrew and in Maquoketa. Esther was a resident
of Maquoketa Care Center since June of 2004.
Esther was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Corrine Miller of Delmar and
Lois (Russell) Portz of Maquoketa; 2 brothers, Harold Mootz of Miles
and Lee Roy (Janet) Mootz of Monticello; 2 sisters-in-law, Vennetta Mootz
of Preston and Bernice Mootz of DeWitt; and many nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Eugene and Emil.

Esther C. Mootz, 73, of Maquoketa, died Thursday, July 30, 2009,
at Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa.
