The family has honored her wishes and the body has been cremated. There will be no public visitation or services. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Neta Haylock was born April 2 1919, in rural Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Verner Floyd Haylock and Ruth (Jaynes) Haylock. She graduated from Maquoketa High School and then attended Maquoketa Junior College and Baylor University in Dallas, Texas. She married Myron M. Poole and they later divorced. Neta taught school in the one room rural schools in the Maquoketa area, and later was an accountant in Dallas, Texas. She was a member of the Toast Mistresses and Baylor University Alumni in Dallas, Texas.

Neta is survived by one daughter, Karen Yarbrough and one granddaughter, Debra Yarbrough, both of Moriarty, New Mexico; one nephew, David Felderman of Maquoketa; and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren and three sisters.

Neta Haylock Poole, 90, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Monday, August 3, 2009, at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Jackson County.
