Edith Marie Wittrock was born August 29, 1911, in DeWitt, Iowa,
daughter of Otto and Ernestine (Eggers) Wittrock. She attended
DeWitt country school. She married Art Pingel on January 8, 1933,
in Clinton County, Iowa. He died on December 27, 1976.
She married Urban Luckow on July 23, 1966 in Jackson County, Iowa.
He died on March 18, 1991.
She was a seamstress, waitress and a homemaker.
She was a member of Pleasant Valley Card Club for several years.
In 1962, she was a chaperone for the senior class to Washington D.C.
Edith enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing and playing cards.

She is survived by 3 sons, Arthur Pingel, Jr. of Charlotte,
Dennis Pingel of Camanche, and Kenneth (Nancy) Pingel of Bettendorf;
a stepdaughter, Janet Matz of Dubuque;
8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; &
2 sisters, Beatrice Nelson of Maquoketa & Dorothy (Rich) Danielson
of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents,
one grandson and two brothers.

October 14, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, Iowa.
