Sandra Joy was born October 28, 1958, in Alexandra, Virginia,
the daughter of Joseph and Pauline (Russel) Menard.
She married Allison Schmidt on May 9, 1981 in Early, Iowa.
She was an assistant manager for 2 years at Movies America in Maquoketa.
She retired in 2002.
She loved reading, watching movies, fishing, attending garage sales, and
collected cow figurines. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Allison Schmidt and
one daughter, Maryrose Rickertsen, both of Maquoketa;
2 granddaughters;
her mother, Pauline Menard of North Carolina;
and her siblings, Jane (Bob) Owen of Memphis, TN,
Mark (Carol) Snedeker of Storm Lake,
Susan (Dan) Geary of Carroll,
Joe (Angie) Snedeker of North Carolina,
Mike (Judy) Snedeker of Storm Lake,
Maureen (Doug) Lauritsen of Georgia,
Noel Snedeker of Florida,
Tom (Nancy) Snedeker of Minnesota,
Tammy (Jay) Hasman of Storm Lake, &
Sharon Snedeker of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by one brother.

Sandra Joy Schmidt, 50, of Maquoketa, died Sunday, October 18, 2009,
at Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.
|
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30th,
at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa.
The family has honored her wishes and the body has been cremated.
