Kathleen Elizabeth Hayes was born July 24, 1930, in Jackson County,
Iowa, daughter of James and Mary (Hawkes) Hayes.
She married Allan J. Hickson on June 1, 1949, at St. Lawrence Catholic
Church in Otter Creek, Iowa. He died on January 4, 1993.
She was a homemaker and a retired school teacher.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Otter Creek.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and she belonged to
a card club.

Kathleen is survived by 6 children,
Sandy Lawler of West Branch, Deacon Bill Hickson of Dubuque,
Glenn Hickson of Rock Island, IL, Ann (Kevin) Allen of Evans, Colorado,
David Hickson of Otter Creek and Jean (Glenn) Short of Lost Nation;
8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Millie (Bob) Feeney and Geri (Junior) Connolly &
one brother, Donald (Margaret) Hayes, all of Dubuque;
two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Hayes of Dubuque and Joan Hickson
of Otter Creek; and a brother-in-law, Charlie (Rita) Hickson of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother,
Herbie Hayes, and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Hickson.

Kathleen E. Hickson, 79, of Maquoketa, formerly of Otter Creek,
died Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center
in Dubuque, Iowa.
