Mary Ann Schwager was born on October 19, 1926, in Lost Nation, Iowa,
to Francis Paul and Mary (Noring) McAndrew.
She married Alfred Schwager on January 2, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2002.
Mary graduated from Lost Nation High School and was a rural school teacher, farmer's wife, and also worked at Clinton Engines, Crestridge Nursing Home and Jackson County Hospital in Maquoketa.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Andrew Petal Pals.
She enjoyed volunteer work, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and close friend, Florence Heiar.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Karen Huntley of North Liberty and
one son, Douglas (Beth) Schwager of Long Grove;
4 grandchildren, John (Carrie) Huntley of Jefferson City, Missouri,
Kate (Randy) Dohmen of Des Moines, Chad Martin of Silvis, Illinois,
and Kelsey Schwager of Cedar Falls, and
3 great-grandchildren, Abbey Huntley, Nyles Martin and Finn Dohmen.
She is also survived by one sister, Jean Eganhouse of Monmouth;
one brother, Francis McAndrew of Wyoming;
sisters-in-law, Sr. Donna Schwager, FSPA of LaCrosse, Wisconsin,
Rosemary Schwager of Bellevue, and Joyce McAndrew of Maquoketa;
and a brother-in-law, Wilfred (Phyllis) Schwager of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Ann in 1953,
her parents, her husband in 2002, a brother, William McAndrew in 2002,
and a grandson, Brett Martin in 2004.

Mary Ann Schwager, of Andrew, Iowa, died Friday, January 15, 2010,
at her home at the age of 83 years, 2 months, 27 days.
