Goldie Evelyn Winchip was born August 9, 1918, in Cedar County, Iowa,
to Parley and Frances (Mackey) Winchip. She graduated from Olin High School in 1937. She married Richard Benischek in November of 1938.
He died on August 28, 1991.
Goldie was a homemaker. She farmed with her husband and operated
Benny's Hardware in Olin.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Olin.
In earlier years, she was active with Olin Eastern Star and belonged to several card clubs. Goldie loved to spend her summers at her cabin in Leech Lake, Minnesota, and loved to play bingo.

Goldie is survived by her children, Roger (Bonnie) Benischek of New Orleans, LA,
Marcia (Richard) Kleppe of Clarence & Greg Benischek of Olin;
& 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother.

Goldie E. Benischek, 91, of Olin, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010,
at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
