Paul McClimon was born October 13, 1916, in Delmar, Iowa,
to Patrick Henry "Harry" and Rose (Watters) McClimon.
He married Sara Marie Heffron on June 12, 1941, at
Sacred Heart Church in Lost Nation, Iowa. She died on March 13, 1999.
Paul farmed in the Elwood area. He attended Reisch Auctioneering School
in 1955 and was an auctioneer until he retired in 1998.
He was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight, being a member of the Knights of Columbus Councils in Maquoketa and DeWitt, where he served as Grand Knight. He served on the Jackson State Bank Board, was a partner in the Maquoketa Sales Company, was a 4-H leader, and served on the Elwood/Delwood School Boards. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and cars. He also cherished the time he spent making furniture for his children and grandchildren. He loved his family and spending time with them.

Paul is survived by his children, Maureen (John) Lary of Maquoketa, Iowa;
Kathleen (Terry) Muenzenberger of New Berlin, Wisconsin;
Rosemary (David) Sievers of Miles, Iowa;
Richard (Kathy) McClimon of Geneseo, Illinois; and
Kevin (Patty) McClimon of Bellevue, Iowa;
a daughter-in-law, Roberta Holden of Southern Pines, North Carolina;
18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, son, Tom, grandson, Chris Lary, great-granddaughter, Ellie Bretl, his parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Paul I. McClimon, 93, of Lost Nation, Iowa, died at his home on
Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
