John Dusanek Obituary

John Joseph Dusanek, age 87, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on February 12, 2026 and is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John was born on February 27, 1938, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of George and Clara (Klinefelter) Dusanek. He graduated from Wyoming High School with the class of 1956.

On September 22, 1963, John was united in marriage to Cleo Kaye Dodge at Scotch Grove Presbyterian Church. They shared 62 years of marriage, farming together in Jones County and building a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. The Dusanek Family Farm was honored with the Century Farm Award. He was a lifelong farmer, a role he deeply cherished. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Greenland.

He was a faithful member of Wyoming Methodist Church and volunteered at the Wyoming Community Food Pantry. John enjoyed restoring and showing classic cars, especially his beloved 1957 Ford.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cleo Kaye; his children, Chad (Tara) Dusanek and Angie Dusanek, all of Wyoming; his siblings, Norman (Maureen) of Anamosa, Rosalie (Nolan) of Austin, Texas, Eileen of Urbandale, Marvin (Nancy) of Monticello, and Margaret of Detroit, Michigan; five grandchildren, Tate (Emmalee) Dusanek, Lucas Lilleberg, Emma (Matthew) Schatz, Garrett (Mariah Simons) Eubanks, and Chiara Dusanek (Trenton Rickels); and one great-grandson, Hayden Dusanek. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Dusanek.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Wyoming Methodist Church, with Rev. Byron Miller and Karmen Jamison, CLM officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming. Burial with military honors will take place in Wyoming Cemetery.
